The Philippines have over a hundred community airports and airstrips, where only a small chartered plane can land. Important: For safety reasons, we strongly recommend to fly only with companies that have a valid Air Operator's Certificate (AOC). These companies are marked in this page by the "CERTIFIED" stamp. The other companies may also be safe but have not yet sent a copy of their AOC. Invitations to submit their AOC are pending.

Important remark

There are some more air charter companies in the Philippines. We do not list them for two reasons.

Reason 1:
The status of the company is not clear. We do not know whether they are still operational or not.

Reason 2:
Some companies are simply not safe. If a company counts 2 major accidents with 6 fatalities in one year, we cannot recommend them anymore.

All air charter companies listed on this page had no accidents in the past. Their pilots do have the needed licences, are fully certified and do have enough hours in the air. For company AOC please read below Their aircraft are well maintained. Some of the planes might be antique, but if they are maintained with knowledge, experience and love, they still have full airworthiness.

This fatal crash happened 2012 a few hundred meters from our office. Reason: Pilot error! Remark: The pilot flying was a trainee!

So please, be careful.

The requirements for obtaining an AOC vary from country to country, but are generally defined as:

• Sufficient personnel with the required experience for the type of operations requested,
• Airworthy aircraft, suitable for the type of operations requested,
• Acceptable systems for the training of crew and the operation of the aircraft (Operations Manual)
• A quality system to ensure that all applicable regulations are followed,
• The appointment of key accountable staff, who are responsible for specific safety critical functions such as training, maintenance and operations,
• Carriers Liability Insurance (for Airlines) - Operators are to have sufficient insurance to cover the injury or death of any passenger carried.
• Proof that the operator has sufficient finances to fund the operation
• The operator has sufficient ground infrastructure, or arrangements for the supply of sufficient infrastructure, to support its operations into the ports requested.
• The certificate is held by a legal person who resides in the country or region of application
